How Solar Works

Sunlight is composed of small particles of light called “photons”, which radiate from the sun. A solar panel works by allowing those photons to knock electrons free from atoms, generating a flow of electricity. Solar panels comprise of many smaller units called photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic (PV) means they convert sunlight into electricity, and multiple cells linked together make up a solar panel.
